We don't just build walls; we preserve and strengthen the commercial and historic properties that give our city its character. We are looking for an Experienced Mason who views their trade as a true craft. If you are tired of bouncing from contractor to contractor, or you are burned out on the grueling pace of standard production masonry, we want you on our team. The Pay: Strong base rate ($28-$34/hr) plus the opportunity to work on Prevailing Wage projects that significantly boost your paycheck. The Schedule: Get your evenings back. We work a standard 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift, Monday through Friday. Local projects only-no living out of a suitcase. What You Will Do: The Build: Lay brick, block, and stone to precise specifications on commercial and historical sites. The Restoration: Perform meticulous tuckpointing, structural repair, and masonry restoration on aging brickwork. The Prep: Mix mortar and grout to the exact consistency and color-match required for historical accuracy. The Blueprint: Read, interpret, and lay out walls, partitions, and arches based on architectural drawings. The Team: Collaborate with foremen and project managers to keep the site clean, safe, and on schedule. What We Need From You: 3+ Years Experience: Proven experience as a Brick or Block Mason. (Experience in historical restoration or tuckpointing is highly preferred!) The Eye: Strong attention to detail. You know how to strike a joint perfectly and color-match mortar. The Grit: Ability to work at heights (scaffolding), in varying Midwest weather conditions, and perform heavy lifting.
