Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a high energy, motivated Maintenance Technician in our Lyons, NY Distribution Center Assists maintenance employees by performing a variety of supportive tasks. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS • Cleans facility grounds by collecting debris and disposing of waste. • Cleans inside gated delivery fleet parking lot by collecting and disposing of waste. • Ensures proper lighting environment by changing light bulbs, as necessary. • Maintains facility's interior and exterior appearance by painting surfaces as needed. • Assists in all types of building maintenance and light construction projects to support preventative maintenance and the production process. • May assist to help ensure consistent and efficient operation of conveyor system by regularly lubricating and cleaning based upon a pre-determined schedule. • Makes minor repairs to mechanical operations by utilizing hand tools and small power tools as required. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and legal regulations. • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Use of PPE when needed or required. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Empire Merchants North offers a competitive compensation package including: • Paid Holidays, Health Plan options (medical, dental, life insurance, and other voluntary plans), Flexible Spending Account, 401K, PTO, vacation accrual, and more. • Hourly Rate $22 per hour / Full time / Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM / Annual bonus potential • The company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience when making an offer. Skills & Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Education, Certifications and/or licenses: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Valid CDL, clean MVR record as per our Company Fleet Safety Policy EXPERIENCE: 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: • Ability to use judgment required to plan and perform work where only general methods are available. • Ability to make decisions involving considerable initiatives and ingenuity. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and software instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pays attention to detail and meet deadlines. • Must be a result oriented professional with excellent communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills. • Ability to successfully and safely use a variety of equipment including, but not limited to: Forklift, Scissor Lift, Floor Scrubber, Lawn Mower, Snowplow.
