Job Description Medical Edge Recruitment has an immediate opening for a Cardiovascular ICU RN for a Direct Hire role at Kent Campus Hospital. Status: Full Time, 80 Hours Shift: Variable SALARY RANGE: $34.27 - $56.01 HOURLY Desired Experience: Cath Lab; strongly prefer ICU, CVICU, or IMC experience. New grads and nurses with Med/Surg experience are not being considered at this time. General Summary: The Professional Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care within the Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology Laboratory. The RN practices requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills consistent with hospital policy, procedure, philosophy, and licensure. The RN performs multiple roles within the Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Neurology laboratories including assisting physician(s) with: Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations Diagnostic and interventional peripheral procedures Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) Electrophysiology procedures (ablations, implantable cardiac defibrillator insertions/revisions, pacemaker insertions/revisions, EP studies, loop recorder insertions) Structural heart procedures: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) Interventional neurology procedures: carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy, cerebrovascular aneurysm embolization, and transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) Responsibilities also include conducting cardiac tests to monitor patients' heart and blood vessel conditions using diverse cardiology equipment, preparing procedure rooms, prepping patients for procedures, obtaining and recording patient information, assisting physicians by circulating procedures, proficiency in X-ray fluoroscopy, performing blood work analyses, and operating intra-cardiac ultrasound. The RN directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff, and patients; independently functions during diagnostic and interventional procedures; and maintains a high level of expertise in specialty procedures within their assigned lab. Shift requirements include varied hours, shift lengths, and responding to an on-call pager, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. Responsibilities: Prepares the patient care and/or procedure area prior to the arrival of the first patient or beginning of first procedure to provide for safe, efficient delivery of care. Receives and reviews charts for scheduled patients as soon as available. Ensures documentation, lab results, and consent are present; communicates abnormalities to physician/NP. Prepares the patient for the procedure in a timely and efficient manner. Provides nursing care, including complete systems assessment and monitoring for pre- and post-procedural cardiovascular and electrophysiology patients. Communicates abnormal findings immediately to physician/NP and provides appropriate handoff to receiving RN. Participates in "Full Stop" and/or "Time Out" processes prior to each procedure with physician and team as per policy. Administers procedural sedation per Bayhealth and unit policies. Accurately documents handoffs, pre- and post-procedure care, and all procedures performed in MacLab/CardioLab systems in real time. Independently circulates all procedures in Cardiovascular and EP Labs. Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and families, ensuring comfort and privacy. Actively participates in precepting new staff members. Enhances professional growth and development through education, workshops, in-services, and current literature; maintains required certifications and annual unit/hospital mandatories; seeks specialty certification/advanced degree. Performs all other duties assigned within scope of job responsibilities. Required Education, Credential(s), and Experience: Education: Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing (if Associate, must obtain Bachelor within 36 months) Graduate from accredited Nursing Diploma program Credential(s): Basic Life Support (BLS) Registered Nurse (RN) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Experience: Required: ICU, CVICU, IMC, or Cath Lab experience Preferred Education, Credential(s), and Experience: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Experience: Experience as an RN in a Cardiovascular and EP Lab Meet Your RecruiterAaliyah Mansfield
