OVERVIEWJOB TITLE: Undergraduate Research Assistant HOURS: ~25 hours/week LOCATION: St. Paul Campus PAY: $16.50 JOB SUMMARY Dr. Small is hiring 6-8 undergraduate research assistants for Summer 2026 to work part-time (~25 hours/week) on our urban environmental science research projects. Training will be provided, and students will have opportunities to build on this work to conduct independent research. Research projects include studying nutrient cycling in urban gardens (with work focusing on the UST Stewardship Garden) and urban lake research through the MSP LTER project. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collecting measurements and contributing to maintenance in the on-campus research gardens Collecting measurements at urban lakes and ponds in the Metro Area Conducting basic laboratory analyses Data entry Applicants should submit an application by March 16 describing: why they are interested in this position, how they have previously demonstrated the qualifications described in this posting, and what their availability is for the summer.
