The Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist will sit within a lean, high-impact Finance team that serves as a true strategic partner to the business during a pivotal growth phase. The Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist reports directly to the Director of Finance and works closely with Accounting as well as senior leaders across R&D, Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Technical Operations. While this role does not have direct reports, it carries significant influence and visibility, acting as a trusted finance business partner who supports department leaders with forecasting, analysis, and executive-level insights. As a Financial Planning Analyst, you will support and lead a wide range of activities: Support the R&D organization by owning core financial planning and financial analysis processes that inform strategic and operational decision-making Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans aligned with clinical and corporate priorities Build financial models and scenario analyses to support clinical trial planning and resource allocation Deliver clear variance analysis tied to key cost drivers and business performance Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate monthly and quarterly close processes Develop dashboards and KPIs to track spend, efficiency, and forecasting accuracy Prepare financial materials and insights for executive leadership and the Board of Directors Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, systems, and reporting The San Francisco Bay Area will offer the Financial Planning Analyst more than just career growth.
