Job Description

Join our team at Herzing University as a Financial Aid Counselor, where you will play a vital role in assisting a diverse student population! In this customer-oriented position, you will guide students receiving funding through our community partnerships, providing personalized insights on financial aid options. If you thrive in a fast-paced, student-focused environment and have a knack for clear and proactive communication, this role is perfect for you. Plus, you will receive onboarding support through our On-the-Job Training Program and opportunities for growth through our Career Pathways. Work Hours: A full-time schedule consists of 40 hours per week during standard business hours, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM CST, with one late night requiring availability until 7 PM. Requirements: High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with Title IV administration is advantageous. Strong customer service skills and experience are essential. Excellent organizational and time management capabilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with Student Information Systems, with knowledge of CampusNexus & Regent preferred. Compensation: Salary is determined based on qualifications, experience, and individual circumstances. While new hires typically start lower within the salary range, we offer a competitive hourly rate between $19.56 and $28.85. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Occasional mobility around the workplace is required. Frequent use of office equipment, including computers, copiers, and audio/visual tools. Effective verbal communication with students and staff, both in person and over the telephone. Ability to visually or otherwise identify, observe, and assess information. Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 10 pounds.
