Job Description Join a dynamic and innovative team as we build foundational platforms that drive Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services. We are looking for experienced developers who specialize in Linux internals, virtualization, and container technologies to contribute to this exciting new Service Platform team. Your role will be critical in shaping the evolution of OCI into an autonomous cloud, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and developer capabilities. As a key member of this team, you'll have the opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges and pioneer initiatives that significantly impact OCI. Responsibilities Leverage your technical, analytical, and problem-solving expertise to help us redefine Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Service Platform. Lead green field projects that set new architectural standards for the cloud industry, creating massive business impact. Innovate in challenging areas such as cluster management (beyond K8s), ultra-fast container runtimes, reimagined cloud connectivity, action-driven observability, and advanced distributed systems. Additionally, you will: Collaborate cross-functionally to design and build high-performance, scalable foundational services. Establish and enhance engineering best practices and design standards. Create, implement, and maintain software components throughout the development lifecycle. Contribute to debugging, performance optimization, and reliability enhancements of system-level software. Influence architectural and design choices that have a broad impact across OCI. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 8+ years of professional software development experience. Experience as a technical lead in delivering large-scale cloud services with end-to-end project oversight. Proficiency in systems-level programming languages such as Rust, Java, C/C++, or Go. Demonstrated ability to lead critical technical decisions and shape the engineering vision. Proven track record in managing production systems in mission-critical environments. Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mentality, and excellent communication skills. Experience in designing architectures that ensure high availability, scalability, and future flexibility. Preferred Qualifications Deep understanding of Linux systems, including kernel and driver development. Experience with Linux virtualization technologies and container runtimes. Solid background in Linux networking, cloud networking, and security. Proven history of delivering high-quality products throughout the software lifecycle. Experience in developing high-performance, low-level systems. In-depth experience with public cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration. Expert-level knowledge of Linux internals and virtualization technologies. Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (e.g., OSI model, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, DHCP). Exceptional Linux/Unix troubleshooting skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical designs and documentation. Experience with distributed infrastructure and scalable service architectures. Proven experience in mentoring and raising the technical proficiency of teams. Disclaimer: Some customer-facing roles may require compliance with health and safety mandates.
