The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is currently seeking applicants for the Senior IT Auditor role. The Senior IT Auditor, under the direction of the Internal Audit Director and/or Internal Audit Manager, performs a variety of information security and IT audits with considerable independence. The role focuses on identifying risks and assessing IT controls to ensure the Information Security Program is operating securely and compliant with the Authority's policies and standards. The Senior IT Auditor is expected to use strong analytical skills and sound judgment while building collaborative relationships with stakeholders to support consistent, effective control practices across Virginia ABC. Areas of ResponsibilityUnder the direction of the Internal Audit Director and/or Internal Audit Manager, performs with considerable independence a variety of information security and IT-related audits to express an opinion on the adequacy of internal controls, compliance with regulatory or Authority standards and overall procedures. Evaluates IT and information security controls to identify risks and assess effectiveness. Conducts audit preparation, gathers documentation and system reports, determines risk-based audit program, performs test work and reviews findings with management. Identifies reasonable and proactive recommendations, drafts audit reports and presents findings to management in a professional manner. Performs follow-up and remediation testing on prior IT audit issues. With Audit Management, conducts risk assessments, maintains audit population and assists in the development of an annual IT audit plan. Assists with investigations, hotline complaints, external audits and other special assignments as needed. Works collaboratively with Information Technology and Information Security teams throughout audit activities. Serves as system administrator for audit software and maintains audit templates. Minimum QualificationsCollege degree with major coursework in Information Systems, Accounting, Cybersecurity, or related IT degree or equivalent experience. Two to five years of progressively responsible experience at the Auditor or Senior Auditor level in planning and executing internal information security and IT-related audits. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently. If not already possessed, a CISA or related certification is required within 24 months of hire date.
