Senior Electrical Engineer Graniteville, SC Full Time Work Model: Onsite (Manufacturing Plant) We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide electrical and automation expertise across one or more areas of the plant. This role is responsible for supporting operations through technical leadership, troubleshooting, and project execution. The engineer will manage capital projects such as new machine installations and upgrades with budgets ranging from $50K to $1M, ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the electrical engineering subject matter expert (SME) for assigned plant areas. Provide technical engineering support to internal customers including Operations and Maintenance. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action projects. Manage and execute capital and expense funded projects including: New machine installations Equipment upgrades and retrofits Automation improvements Analyze project needs and engineering challenges, ensuring solutions meet design and operational requirements. Oversee project workflow and coordinate internal/external resources to ensure: On-time delivery Quality compliance Budget adherence Ensure all relevant safety requirements and legal standards are observed and implemented. Engineering & Technical Responsibilities Create and finalize electrical designs meeting scope, safety standards, and project requirements. Develop project documentation including: Bills of Materials (BOM) Spare parts requirements Manage and coordinate automation vendors and external contractors for equipment installations. Develop and update engineering drawings using Autodesk products (AutoCAD preferred). Perform project/equipment risk assessments and implement safety countermeasures. Design and implement control system solutions including: Hardware design PLC programming HMI programming VFDs and servo drives Control system networking & systems integration Specify and procure electrical hardware and engineering services. Support commissioning activities including: Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) I/O checkout Machine start-up and commissioning Must-Haves Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude Ability to manage capital and expense budgets to meet plant objectives Minimum 5+ years of industrial electrical engineering / automation experience Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant environment Required Technical Skills Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, remote I/O, HMIs Strong experience with Rockwell software (Studio 5000 / RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, etc.) Ability to troubleshoot and program PLCs Experience with industrial ethernet communication and machine network layout Knowledge of equipment electrical safety including: Hardware design & component selection Arc flash safety requirements per NFPA 70E Risk assessment and countermeasure implementation Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders Experience managing: Contractors Maintenance technicians Ability to design, develop, and oversee complete electrical control systems end-to-end Experience supporting multiple production departments or complex plant environments Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline (required/preferred depending on candidate strength) Industry Experience Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred Knowledge of production and maintenance processes is a plus Recruiter Submission Template - Full Name: Degree Major with University and Completion Year: Does this candidate have a 4-year EE Degree from an Accredited University?
