Lifeguard

Description We currently have openings for Lifeguards at the Racine Unified School District Aquatic Center to ensure the safety of all those who use the aquatics facility. Candidates should have current up-to-date lifeguard certification. Lifeguards will be required to: • Monitor activities in the swimming pool, promote safe swimming practices and ensure the security and well-being of all persons participating in activities in the water and immediate area. • Render emergency assistance to persons in distress or difficulty. • Administer first aid as required. • Ensure that all areas are clean and secure before leaving the pool. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Preferred if the candidate is currently up to date with Red Cross Lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, and AED Certifications (cross-training available). Candidate must be: At least 15 years of age Able to swim 300 yards continuously (use of both breaststroke and freestyle) Able to tread water for 2 minutes without hands Able to retrieve 10lb brick off the bottom of a 14-foot deep pool and swim it 25 yards, without using hands, in under 1 minute and 40 seconds Qualifications Red Cross Lifeguarding First aid CPR AED Certifications Candidate Requirements Additional Requirements None
