REQUIREMENT Retail Engineering Lead - Java, Data & Cloud Platforms - Onsite role Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid preferred - 3 days onsite(Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday is a must) Duration: 20 Months+ Key Responsibilities Application & Platform Engineering Lead design and development of Java/Spring Boot microservices supporting retail systems (customer, order management, pricing, promotions, loyalty, notifications) Drive modernization of legacy systems to cloud-native, microservices-based architectures Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of platforms handling high-volume retail transactions Data Engineering & Integration Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, and reconciliation pipelines across multiple internal and external systems Develop and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and batch processes for large-scale data processing Integrate application platforms with data warehouses, reporting, and analytics tools to enable business insights Support near real-time and event-driven data flows using Kafka/RabbitMQ Ensure data quality, consistency, lineage, and traceability across systems Partner with analytics, reporting, and business teams to translate data needs into technical solutions Cloud, DevOps & Reliability Architect and deploy solutions on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc.) Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both application and data workloads Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for application and data pipelines Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of data and platform-related production issues Technical Leadership Serve as technical lead for onshore and offshore teams, ensuring delivery quality and adherence to architecture standards Conduct design and code reviews covering application logic, data models, and performance Mentor engineers on best practices for data engineering, cloud, and microservices Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, and DevOps to align delivery with business priorities Required Skills & Experience 12+ years of experience in software engineering with strong focus on Java (8+), Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Data JPA Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL, batch processing, and reconciliation Strong expertise in SQL & PL/SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka and/or RabbitMQ Solid experience deploying and operating solutions on AWS cloud Experience with CI/CD and DevOps (Jenkins, GitLab, Maven/Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes) Exposure to frontend frameworks (Angular / React) is a plus Strong communication and leadership skills with experience guiding distributed teams Retail / Data Domain Experience (Preferred) Experience supporting retail or e-commerce data platforms, including customer, order, product, pricing, and promotion data Familiarity with high-volume transactional data and analytics pipelines Exposure to BI / reporting tools (e.g., Superset, Looker, Tableau, Power BI) Understanding of omnichannel retail data flows and customer analytics Thanks & Regards, John Stanley- Sr. BDM / Delivery Manager Maintec Technologies Inc 8801 Fast Park Drive, Ste. 301, Raleigh, NC 27617 Mobile: +1 (919) 267-1887 / +91- 98411-45549 Email: ; | LinkedIn :Bangalore | Chennai | Hyderabad | Pune | Noida | USA
