The Old Mill District is a vibrant outdoor lifestyle center that includes a shopping district and the Hayden Homes Amphitheater, making it one of Bend’s largest and most popular destinations. We take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-managed district while offering exceptional guest services and support to all who visit. Our policies and procedures are designed to promote safety, accessibility, and a positive experience for guests, tenants, and partners throughout the Old Mill District. Job Description Our Guest Services and Security team plays a crucial role in shaping the overall guest experience at the Old Mill District by protecting property and ensuring public safety. Team responsibilities vary and include maintaining cleanliness throughout the district, assisting tenants with day-to-day operational needs, supporting events, and providing property management services. This team serves as a visible, approachable presence dedicated to creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone. Primary responsibilities:Support concert egress by assisting with crowd movement and guest departure following events Assist with event teardown, including removal of signs, cones, barricades, and other event equipment Support post-event cleanup efforts to ensure the district is ready for overnight operations Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of Old Mill District properties during overnight hours Check building security, including doors, gates, and restricted access points Monitor overnight vehicle activity and address parking or loitering concerns Monitor CCTV cameras and report suspicious or unusual activity Respond appropriately to incidents, alarms, or calls for service during overnight shifts Deter loitering on district property and enforce after-hours rules and policies Interact positively with juveniles to promote respectful and appropriate behavior Serve as a visible overnight security presence to support safety and property protection Communicate clearly with supervisors, law enforcement, or emergency services as required Schedule & Availability:• 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM • 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM • 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM This is a seasonal position, and hours are not the same or guaranteed each week. Physical Demands & Work Environment:Ability to lift, carry, and move event and security equipment such as signs, cones, and barricades Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including prolonged exposure to high temperatures or cold night-time conditions Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, including overnight patrols over uneven terrain Ability to remain alert and attentive during overnight shifts Ability to perform physically active duties throughout long shifts Qualifications:DPSST Certification in Private Security or Event & Entertainment Security is preferred but not required Ability to work overnight hours reliably and independently Strong communication, observation, and decision-making skills Ability to remain calm and professional during low-visibility or high-responsibility situations Comfortable working alone or with minimal supervision Prior overnight security, patrol, or event operations experience preferred but not required Why Work With Us:Play a key role in keeping the Old Mill District safe overnight Gain hands-on experience in security, monitoring, and incident response Be part of a professional and supporting team.
