This position works Monday-Friday Hours may vary based on clinic needs. Ambulatory Surgery Center -- Registered Nurse Fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center seeking a professional Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, friendly, and will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory surgical setting. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: Determines and accomplishes objectives which are in concert with facility objectives Assisting Mohs surgeon with dermatologic procedures (surgical, medical and cosmetic) Assisting cosmetic surgeon with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for aesthetic surgical procedures (facelift, neck lift, blepharoplasty, fat transfer, laser resurfacing, etc.) Monitoring patients during sedation or local anesthesia for cosmetic surgery according to protocol Assures that proper technique and practices are used according to accepted standards of practice Ensures care of the patient through proper identification, checking of the chart, and reporting of changes in condition Provide detailed post-operative education for cosmetic surgery patients, including would care, medication instruction, and complication awareness Assures documentation of patient care to meet criteria dictated by legal practice, state health laws and CMS. Is comfortable with delegation and oversight to medical assistants, maintaining both direct and indirect supervision in their daily tasks - ensuring compliance with regulatory standards Participates in the development of policies and procedures, as needed Utilizes a body of nursing knowledge and discriminative judgment while giving direct or indirect patient care Reduces chances of nosocomial infection by directing attention to infection control and environmental safety practices; enforces infection control practices in daily practices and directs staff appropriately Is thoroughly familiar with and comfortable in the role of patient advocate, as applied to ambulatory surgical nursing Has a thorough working knowledge of aseptic technique and its application Managing cosmetic surgery supply inventory, medications, and necessary equipment Maintains appropriate and respectful channels of communication with all team members, staff and providers Makes provisions for instruments, supplies, equipment, and pharmaceutical requirements of surgical procedures Performs other duties as assigned by the ASC Administrator May be expected to lift 25 pounds without assistance. Is required to obtain assistance when moving patients as is necessary for the safety of patient or self. May be required to push patients in wheelchairs. Certification| Qualifications| Skills Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited educational institute-REQUIRED Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington and Idaho-REQUIRED Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association Certification-REQUIRED Experience with electronic health records Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills Qualifications| Skills Preferred: 2 years of surgical experience MOHS Surgical Dermatology nursing experience is a plus Experience in cosmetic surgery or peri-operative care for aesthetic procedures is strongly preferred NOTE: The position will require travel between our Spokane Valley & Coeur d' Alene, Idaho locations.
