Description Conduct comprehensive assessments across all age groups, utilizing standardized tools and observational strategies. Create individualized treatment plans focusing on both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing goals. Deliver direct speech therapy sessions tailored to specific needs in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop a unified care approach. Educate patients and families to foster progression beyond the therapy environment. Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations to ensure a seamless continuum of care. Accurately document patient interactions in compliance with all relevant regulations. Stay ahead in the field by pursuing continuous education and collaborating with peers. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are yet to obtain ASHA certification. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist. A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment. Skills Strong grounding in evidence-based techniques for treating individuals across the lifespan with a comprehensive understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills that enhance interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to tailor therapy approaches to respect and meet diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Astute clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving abilities.
