Workday Engineer

Role: Workday Engineer Location: Hybrid -Richmond, VA Duration: 6 Months (High potential for extension/contract-to-hire)Role Overview We are seeking a Senior ERP Developer (Workday Engineer) to support an enterprise-wide finance transformation initiative replacing PeopleSoft with the Workday platform. This role is part of a large FinTech program focused on designing, building, and implementing Workday Financial solutions. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, configuration, and testing of Workday Financial modules, including Core Financials, Expenses, Procurement, and Accounting Center (Prism), while supporting integrations and enterprise financial processes.This is a strong opportunity to join a growing team supporting a major implementation program targeted for go-live in 2027. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and configure solutions within Workday Financials. Support implementation of Workday Core Financials, Expenses, and Procurement modules. Design and develop solutions within Workday Accounting Center (Prism). Configure business processes to support enterprise financial functions. Develop integrations using standard Workday tools (EIBs, Core Connectors, custom integrations). Build and maintain reporting solutions within Workday. Work with implementation partners to support platform deployment and go-live activities. Support security configuration and financial data mapping within Workday. Participate in build activities, testing cycles, and system enhancements. Translate business requirements into technical design and scalable solutions. Contribute to architecture, configuration standards, and system documentation. Required Qualifications 4-7 years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials. Strong experience in solution design and development (not just production support). Experience building solutions across Workday Financial modules (Core Financials, Expenses preferred). Experience with Workday Accounting Center / Prism (2+ years preferred). Experience developing integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, APIs preferred). Strong understanding of financial processes and ERP implementations. Ability to take requirements and independently design and build solutions. Experience working in large enterprise implementation programs. Preferred Qualifications Experience with enterprise financial transformation initiatives. Prior experience with large financial organizations or enterprise programs. Workday Financials certification or advanced module expertise. Experience with Workday Extend applications (nice to have). API integration experience. Strong understanding of Workday security configuration. Ideal Candidate Profile Senior-level Workday engineer with strong build and design expertise. Deep experience implementing enterprise financial solutions. Strong understanding of financial data mapping and accounting workflows. Hands-on experience in large-scale ERP transformation programs.
