Reporting to the CIO, this leader will play a critical role in modernizing legacy systems while maintaining stability and scalability across core platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep iSeries (AS/400) expertise, retail systems experience, and a balanced approach to infrastructure, enterprise applications, and business alignment. This role requires a blend of technical leadership and business acumen to drive reliable, secure, and future-ready technology operations. Key Responsibilities:Leadership & StrategyAct as a strategic partner to the CIO, aligning IT priorities with business goals. Develop and execute actionable IT strategies with measurable outcomes. Build and foster a high-performance IT culture rooted in accountability and innovation. Technology Operations & InfrastructureOversee all infrastructure including on-prem systems, cloud environments, and networks. Ensure high availability, system security, and business continuity across stores, distribution, and corporate locations. Lead and manage all aspects of IBM iSeries (AS/400) operations, essential to business-critical processes. Enterprise Applications & SystemsDirect the lifecycle of ERP, POS, WMS, and custom applications supporting retail and logistics. Modernize legacy applications through DevOps, integrations, and process improvements. Champion cross-platform integration to ensure data flow and operational efficiency. E-Commerce & Omnichannel SupportCollaborate with digital commerce and marketing teams to support platform reliability, integration, and growth. Provide backend system readiness for seasonal peaks, promotions, and omnichannel execution. Security, Compliance & Risk ManagementEnforce cybersecurity best practices and maintain regulatory compliance (SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.). Lead the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Retail & Distribution Technology EnablementSupport in-store technology for 264+ retail locations, ensuring stable POS systems and tech onboarding. Enable supply chain visibility and performance through WMS and operational tools. Team & Vendor ManagementBuild and develop a highly effective IT team with strengths across infrastructure, applications, and security. Manage vendor relationships with a focus on performance, cost, and alignment with strategic goals. Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems and legacy platforms. 5-10+ years of senior IT leadership experience in a retail, distribution, or eCommerce setting. Must have retail experience and be onsite at the corporate headquarters in Troy, Michigan Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise-wide systems and cross-functional initiatives. Deep understanding of ERP, POS, WMS, and retail infrastructure. Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset. Preferred Experience:Prior Senior Director or VP-level IT leadership in a national retail organization. Familiarity with AWS, Azure, hybrid cloud environments, and data warehousing. Experience with customer loyalty platforms, mobile commerce, and omnichannel strategies.
