Description Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric brackets using cutting-edge evaluation methods and observation techniques. Create tailored treatment strategies that focus on both immediate and future speech, cognitive, and swallowing goals. Deliver dedicated one-on-one speech therapy sessions honing in on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues. Work seamlessly alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, and families to formulate a unified care approach. Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress outside therapy sessions, empowering their journey. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations, ensuring comprehensive care continuity. Keep thorough and precise documentation that aligns with state, federal, and facility standards. Pursue continuous professional growth through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have not yet received ASHA certification. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of your start date. Skills Expert in evidence-based practices for individuals across all age groups, with a deep understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Strong interpersonal skills, engaging effectively with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary team members. Adaptable therapy techniques that respect and meet the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of your patients. Excellent clinical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
