Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive DesignationJOB OBJECTIVE: Provides administrative and organizational support to the Career and Workforce Development Coordinator and Community Resources Manager in the development and operation of the Summer Youth Employment program. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 - 25 by June 1, 2026.This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening. Essential Functions The position offers a leadership development opportunity, with responsibilities that include guiding and supporting Summer Youth interns, helping them connect with their peers, and serving as a resource. Mentors also provide administrative and organizational assistance, facilitate meetings, assist with summer training, and meet with their intern groups to offer advice and counsel throughout their summer employment. Applicants must be between the ages of 18-25 by June 1, 2026. Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities Applicants interested in being considered to fill Mentor positions should meet the following requirements: Applicants must be between the ages of 18 - 25 by June 1, 2026. Have a valid Class D (Non-Commercial) Driver's License before employment. Currently attending college or vocational school AND in good standing (recent college graduates will be considered). Completed thirty (30) hoursof vocational-technical or college coursework (2nd-year student). Have previously worked for two (2) years or more in the Summer Youth Employment program. City of Little Rock resident (preferred but not required). Only hours completed at an institution accredited by one (1) of the six (6) regional accrediting associations recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education will be accepted. The institution's accreditation must have been in effect during the period in which the hours were earned. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must be able to attach the official college transcript and the required essay before continuing the online application.
