Monday through Friday, 8-5 but can be slightly flexible with the exact hours. Summary: Provide 2nd level technical expertise in PLC controls-based troubleshooting and continuous improvement in support of new production line installation. Follow direction from a Sr Controls Engineer. Enhance manufacturing capabilities through the implementation of new ideas and methods. Independently execute project objectives to fulfill overall project goals and milestones. Requirements: Experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems and structured programming Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in controls engineering/master's degree with limited experience (4 or 5 years) will be accepted. PLC Programming is required. Must be proficient in developing, modifying, and troubleshooting industrial control programs. Ability to perform through control panel verification and system checks. Highly Preferred Programming: Strong expertise in Ladder Logic and extensive experience utilizing RS Logix platforms (e.g., RS Logix 500/5000, Studio 5000). Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware is a strong preference. Demonstrated ability to implement, tune, and optimize PID loops and other closed-loop control strategies. Knowledge of controls systems design, programming, and systems integration Experience working in a manufacturing environment Strong written & oral communications skills Actively participate in all phases of projects including design, fabrication, off-line integration and testing, installation, production start-up support, training of plant personnel and technology transfer. Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision Education: 3 additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of formal education (for a total of 10). Minimum Requirement: An associate's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or 10 years of experience with a high school diploma, or 15 years of experience in lieu of any formal degree. Preferred: A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering is preferred, and candidates with a master's degree may be considered with fewer years of experience.
