Vacancy Name Groundskeeping Manager Vacancy No VN934 Target Staff Type Volunteer/Supported Work Location JAARS Waxhaw FTE 1.000 Position Summary The JAARS campus is seeking a qualified and experienced manager for the Groundskeeping Department, to lead and work with this landscaping team. The Groundskeeping team maintains lawns, trees, shrubbery, and flower beds. Equipment includes commercial zero-turn mowers, tractors with pull-behind equipment, heavy equipment, and small power and manual equipment. Edging and trimming will be done with powered string and blade trimmers. Position ResponsibilitiesManage the groundskeeping maintenance team. Recommend cost saving measures and efficiency solutions that maximize the capabilities of the groundskeeping and landscape resources; report these recommendations to leadership for implementation. Perform routine administrative and supervisory tasks including scheduling, work prioritization, etc. Work with the team in mowing, string trimming, weeding, raking, mulching, and other general landscaping tasks. Train staff in best practices in maintaining grounds, use of tools, and taking care of tools and equipment. Position RequirementsA deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS Prior or current experience with JAARS in a related capacity desirable Team management experience, with the ability to lead and communicate well General operating knowledge and experience with grounds equipment, landscaping, and external property maintenance Ability to operate powered machinery, such as commercial zero-turn mowers, small tractors, walk-behind equipment, string trimmers, chainsaws, and hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.) Tolerant of outside work in summer heat and winter cold, and physically healthy, able to do some strenuous pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds) Must be a North Carolina licensed vehicle operator
