Position Description J&J Truck Equipment is seeking a Quality Control Inspector who will conduct both in process & final inspections of manufactured/fabricated products to ensure they are of acceptable quality & that it meets customer specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned. Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality & reliability standards. Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, mechanical, and electrical functionality. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability. When necessary, coordinates destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Observes and complies with all provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS. Observes and complies with all safety rules, including the use of PPE. Position Requirements Education and Experience Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 2+years of experience in manufacturing, or quality preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary, and strong familiarity with all aspects of J&J products is a plus Knowledge of how to read blueprints, engineering drawings, or technical specifications. Experience performing in-line and final inspections, and familiarity with nonconformance & corrective action processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities.
