This full-time role involves compounding intravenous medications, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards. General Summary As a Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician, you will accurately compound IV medications, perform safety checks including proper labeling and visual inspections, and maintain a clean and organized IV room. Your attention to detail will support the safe and efficient delivery of chemotherapy treatments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Compound IVs with precision and adhere to all safety protocols. Restock IV room carts and automated dispensing cabinets, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the IV room, including daily cleaning of Ante and Clean Rooms and monthly deep cleaning. Manage inventory by placing daily orders, verifying deliveries, and assisting with back-order management. Complete all required annual education and training to stay current with facility standards. Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience At least one year of experience in sterile compounding is necessary. Experience with chemotherapy compounding is preferred. Certification/License Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required. Candidates must register or apply for pharmacy registration prior to starting. Mental and Physical Requirements This role requires sustained mental concentration and the ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 35 pounds. The work environment involves standard conditions with some deadlines and sensitive situations.
