This is anon-certified position; however we would also consider candidates with a valid Journeyman/Journeywomanlicenses or someone with a Plumbing or HVAC license or equivalentcertification. Perform lawn, landscapingservice, and snow removal tasks as needed to all BCH properties. All employees will be held to the highest standard ofconfidentiality, and will be required to annually sign an employeeconfidentiality agreement that outlines the rules and expectation for every BCHemployee. Failure to abide by these guidelines could lead to disciplinaryaction including termination. Security Access:High Incumbent has access to restricted or confidential patientinformation and must comply with the terms of the BCH privacy & securitypolicies as it applies to their job. BEHAVIORALREQUIREMENTS: BooneCounty Hospital has developed standards for behavior expectations of allemployees. Please refer to the Boone County Hospital Standards of Behavior andAppearance policy. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS: Completeall assigned monthly preventative maintenance tasks via theMPULSE maintenance tracking software and document completion of work onequipment as well as in the MPULSE program. Completeall assigned daily work orders via the MPULSE maintenance trackingsoftware and document completion of work in the MPULSE program. Respond toemergency maintenance calls during and after normal work hours and on weekendsand holidays; perform necessary repair work, which may include temporaryrepairs sufficient to secure the systems and facilities until permanent repairsare feasible; notify appropriate personnel if further action is required; logall call-back calls received and document action taken. Conductperiodic inspections of designated buildings and equipment; when necessary,repair and perform preventive maintenance on general building facilitiesincluding electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and communicationsystems. Respondimmediately to fire alarm systems; disengage electrical, water, or gas systemsto protect building occupants and property; assist in removing patients,personnel, or equipment as needed. Assistwith minor or major repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating, HVAC, andrefrigeration equipment as needed. Assist ingeneral upkeep patching & painting of facility. Coordinateand participate in the proper care of Boone County Hospital Properties toinclude trimming, edging, weeding, pruning of trees and shrubs, application ofherbicides, pesticides and fungicides, and application of seeds, bulbs, plants,mulch and fertilizers as directed; operate weed eaters, power edger's, powermowers, backpack sprayers, hoes, shovels, hand tools and related landscapeequipment as required. Completeall Snow & ice removal and apply ice melt as needed to all propertiesduring the winter prior to 8:00am. exceptions made for continuing snowaccumulation throughout the day. Advisemanagement of general condition of facilities and equipment and any unusualproblems or concerns that may arise; make recommendations for facilitiesimprovements or upgrades. Maintainappropriate documentation of maintenance and repair records to ensurecompliance with applicable regulations and codes. On-CallRotation Functions: completefacility tour daily during call week upon arrive to start shift. Enter alldata recorded during daily facility tours into corresponding computer logs CompleteBoiler test on weekends Carry theon-call phone for duration of call week to ensure answering of any emergencycalls Completeweekly, all tasks laid out in the on-call standard work and on-call snowremoval standard works MINIMUMKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: HighSchool Diploma or general GED. Ability to read and interpret documents such assafety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract,multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfraction, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to drawand interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to dealwith problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. WORKINGCONDITIONS: RegularEngineering employee hours are from 7:00am-3:30pm (weekdays), On-call rotationhours are 6:00am-2:30pm (Weekdays). Weekend on-call hours are 7:00am-8:00amSaturday and Sunday to complete the Mechanical tour and Boilertesting. Hours may vary depending on departmental staffing needs. Typicalworking conditions while performing the duties of the job a employee isfrequently exposed to moving parts, and outside weather conditions. Theemployee is exposed to wet and or humid conditions: precarious places, fumes orairborne particles: extreme heat: and or vibration. The noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate and in some areas high.
