SUMMARY OF POSITION The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator supports the Payroll & Benefits Manager in the day-to-day administration and operations of the payroll/benefits department. This role is responsible for payroll processing, benefits administration, employee support, compliance activities, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality service to employees while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPayroll Administration Preparation and processing of biweekly payroll. Review and audit timesheets, pay adjustments, deductions, and tax withholdings for accuracy. Approving payroll changes such as direct deposits and tax withholdings Support payroll reconciliations and assist with payroll reporting. Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Benefits Administration Support the administration of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefits. Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. Assist with new hire onboarding and benefits orientation. Coordinate and track leave of absence documentation (FMLA, disability, etc.) in partnership with the Manager. Maintain accurate benefits records and documentation. Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations including FLSA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and state-specific requirements. Assist with audits, annual filings, and reporting requirements. Maintain confidential employee information in accordance with company policy and legal requirements. Employee Support Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to payroll and benefits. Provide clear communication regarding policies, procedures, and deadlines. Assist in developing employee communications related to payroll and benefits updates. General Administrative Support Maintain organized electronic and paper files. Support special projects within the Payroll & Benefits department. Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance employee experience. REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED required 3+ years previous experience in a similar role Strong understanding of payroll processes and benefits administration. Working knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws. Experience with SAP and Dayforce strongly preferred Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Effective speaking and listening skills Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills Willingness to work on assignments where all tasks are not completely mapped Should exhibit high levels of professionalism and adherence to confidentiality Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
