Our client is an exclusive financial institution catering to community banks, delivering tailored solutions and specialized services they can't source in-house. As a correspondent bank, they empower local banks with the financial products, services, and operational support needed to thrive. The Investment Director will drive the buying and selling of fixed income and bank-eligible securities, expertly managing portfolios for community banks. You'll provide sharp, strategic insights, execute bond swaps, and deliver high-impact recommendations. Beyond the numbers, you'll spearhead marketing efforts, lead educational initiatives, and manage municipal inventories, all while reporting key metrics to senior leadership. Responsibilities: • Sales and Trading o Buy/sell bank eligible fixed income securities for community banks and their customers o Provide community banks with portfolio analysis/investment strategies including bond swaps o Manage underwriting process/file maintenance for new municipal issues o Active in researching new investment products/service opportunities • Business Development o Work with other areas of bank to market/promote products/services to community banks o Attend and participate in various banking functions/conferences o Manage marketing and educational offerings for customers • Leadership & Management o Assist with production and monitoring of annual budget o Mentor new staff in the Investment Banking area o Back-up for investment communications, CD programs and cash sweep Requirements: Bachelor's degree in finance or related field; MBA preferred 5+ years' experience working in a bank, trust company, registered investment advisor, or accounting firm FINRA Series 52, required or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire; Series 65, preferred Experience with FIS, BondEdge, and/or Bloomberg preferred, but not required Investment advisory experience with fee-based consulting, preferred Understanding of fixed income investments including Government Agency, US Treasury, mortgage-backed, asset-backed, corporate and municipal bonds Excellent verbal/written communication, math, and presentation skills Previous ALCO experience within a financial services firm, preferred Professional financial designation such as CPA, CFA, and/or CTFA
