The schedule includes working 7 PM to 7 AM on weekdays, with some weekends. The clinician may be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs. Previous charge experience is preferred. The types of cases include critical care, general care, adults, and pediatrics. Weekend coverage is required as part of the contract. The candidate must possess national certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NALS for pediatrics. The clinician will work alongside only two other therapists some nights. Travelers will be expected to be ready to work in both PICU and ER settings. This position requires skills in adult critical care and pediatric critical care. The candidate should be familiar with a variety of respiratory equipment and procedures. Experience with extubation, intubation assist, tracheostomy care, and mechanical ventilation is necessary. Specific experience with neonatal transports, interpreting arterial blood gases, and chest physiotherapy is also required. This role involves working with diverse patient age groups including neonates to geriatrics. A comprehensive understanding of respiratory conditions and treatments is essential for this position. The respiratory therapist will also be involved in patient education regarding respiratory management.
