Reports To: Senior Director, Head of Patient AdvocacyAbout This Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Associate Director of Patient Advocacy & Engagement to join our team. As a key member of our engagement strategy, you will lead strategic regional patient advocacy engagement efforts in the area of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare, genetic, neuromuscular disease. You will play a critical role in developing strategic relationships with regional advocacy groups, gathering insights from and sharing essential information with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and relevant stakeholders to help improve the lives of people with DMD. Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Patient Advocacy, this role is highly integrated with internal teams and partnered with our external organizations. This role is field based with travel within your territory, to national conferences or events, and to our office in Concord, MA with regularity and based on business need. What You'll Do: In partnership with and under the direction of the Head of Advocacy, create and execute an engagement and outreach plan for regional advocacy organizations Participate in strategically significant regional advocacy groups, building awareness of ITF Therapeutics and developing strong collaborations among industry counterparts Develop presentation content for in-person engagements Gather crucial insights from the community to inform programs and materials Provide regular ITF updates to patient groups Represent the DMD patient voice in internal meetings and guide internal activities to help establish a patient-focused culture within ITF Collaborate with other field colleagues to engage appropriately with the DMD community and share appropriate insights Contributes to the development and delivery of educational presentations, materials, and resources to further conversation and address gaps in knowledge around DMD Contribute to corporate communication efforts for DMD Who You Are: You not only understand the complexities of our rare patient population but are motivated to go above and beyond each day for the communities we serve. With deep knowledge of the disease state, you work closely with regional and national organizations as a trusted partner. You thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment and are committed to building regional relationships and advancing advocacy for those living with DMD. Required Skills: 8+ years of related and progressive experience in biotech and/or pharmaceutical patient advocacy 4+ years of relevant experience in the field, either regionally or nationally Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight and weekend events Preferred Skills: Experience in rare or neurological disorders Prior experience with DMD highly preferred Bachelor or advanced degree in genetic counseling, nursing, public health, or social work Bi-lingual fluency in English and Spanish Understanding of FDA and EMA compliance regulations as they pertain to patient advocacy Demonstrated history of cross-functional collaboration with sales medical and access teams, including ability to create and foster cross-departmental relationships A self-starter who is comfortable leading field relations for a fast-moving startup Additional Information: The base compensation range for this role is: $190,000 - $220,000. Compensation is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
