Position Type: Special Services/Psychology Intern Date Posted: 11/18/2025 Location: Districtwide District: Community Unit School District 200 Position: School Psychology Intern Reports to: Department Chair & Supervising School Psychologist Internship Stipend: $20,000 (2026-2027 school year) Summary of Position: The CUSD 200 School Psychology Internship Program is designed to provide a comprehensive, well-rounded, and supervised professional experience, preparing interns for a confident and effective transition into their first year as practicing school psychologists. The program emphasizes the application of theoretical knowledge and skills acquired during graduate training to diverse, real-world educational settings. Central to our philosophy is the continuous development of professional knowledge, advanced skills, and ethical practice throughout the internship year. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a School Psychology graduate program Eligible for School Psychology Internship placement Demonstrates organizational skills, flexibility, and collaboration Knowledge of MTTS and problem solving Professional Framework: CUSD 200 aligns its practice with the NASP Practice Model, ensuring that interns gain experience across the 10 NASP domains of practice. School psychologists within the district maintain diverse, multifaceted roles and benefit from favorable student-to-psychologist ratios, allowing for meaningful engagement in direct student services. This balanced model ensures interns receive a comprehensive, equitable, and authentic professional experience. Placement: Interns will be primarily placed at either the Elementary or High School level, based on expressed interest. To ensure a well-rounded experience, each intern will also complete a 20-day rotation at the opposite school level. CUSD 200 offers the full continuum of general and special education programs, providing interns with a rare and valuable opportunity to gain experience working with students across a wide spectrum of needs. Responsibilities: Participation in the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) process and data-based problem solving Comprehensive psychoeducational assessments Direct interventions, including individual and group counseling Consultation and collaboration with teachers, parents, and related service providers Professional development opportunities, including access to district-wide CUSD 200 training sessions Ongoing supervision and feedback Supervision and Support: Each intern will be assigned a highly qualified, licensed school psychologist as a primary supervisor, who will coordinate directly with the intern's university program. Supervisors are selected based on their knowledge, experience, and interpersonal strengths. Interns will also receive supervision from an additional school psychologist at the alternate placement level. Interns participate in monthly department meetings with our district-wide team of over 30 school psychologists, fostering professional networking, collaboration, and exposure to district initiatives.
