Status: Per Diem Shift: 10 HOUR DAY SHIFT Department: Hemodialysis Position Summary Summary:The Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician is a member of the nursing staff who provides patient care under the direction of a registered nurse. Qualifications Responsibilities:Education Required • Must complete in-house orientation program • High school graduation or equivalent required. Experience And Skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Speaks, reads and writes English • Minimum of one year nephrology technician required • Experience in acute care Dialysis setting preferred License/Certifications • Certification by the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology (BONENT) or Certification by the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) • BLS certification for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association Working Conditions Other information:Working Conditions • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn • Primarily standing. • Ability to bend, transport patients from wheelchair and stretcher to dialysis chair and bed. • Able to lift 50 lbs. • Walk distances from within unit and throughout the hospital. Escort patients to and from unit.
