Job Title: EHS Assistant III Location: Dumfries, VA 22026) (Onsite) Duration: 60 Days (Potential for Extension) Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | 10-Hour Shifts (Start between 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM) Weekend Availability: Required for 2 scheduled weekend shifts (Dates TBD during interview) Work Environment: 70% Field / 30% Office Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-driven EHS Assistant III (Site Safety Professional) to join our project team for a pipeline installation project supporting Dominion Energy. The selected candidate will play a critical role in enforcing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and ensuring site-wide compliance with all safety standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Conduct daily field safety inspections and monitor job sites to ensure adherence to federal, state, and company safety standards. Support the Site Project Manager and Owner with proactive communication and safety-related guidance. Prepare and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), safety logs, and compliance documentation. Promote and uphold a proactive safety culture through regular on-site presence and coaching. Respond to incidents or near-miss situations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Support site teams in executing work safely and efficiently in alignment with OSHA and project-specific standards. Required Qualifications (Must meet one of the following): Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a titled construction safety professional on large-scale projects. OR Minimum 5 years of experience on a large construction project in a safety role as a titled safety professional and OSHA 500/502 certification. OR CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification and minimum 5 years of experience as a titled safety professional on construction projects. Note: Candidates must meet at least one of the above qualification criteria to be considered. Additional Requirements: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of OSHA standards, safety best practices, and job hazard mitigation strategies. Must be local to the Dumfries, VA area; relocation is not provided. Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments.
