What You’ll Do As a Family Services Liaison 1, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission. The Family Services Liaison serves as a liaison between LifeLink and donor families and recipients. This position will manage services and facilitate interactions and responses with/to donor families, providing consistent documentation and follow through and will actively participate and identify educational/counseling resources for staff. Key Responsibilities:Follow the Family Correspondence Policies and Procedures which include: triage of phone calls, keeping current logs, coding, routing, and final follow-up correspondence/communication with donor/non-donor families and recipients to ensure favorable outcomes. Manage the Medallion project to include: ensuring correspondence and medallions are sent to donor families within the desired time period. Maintain donor family survey project, ensuring families receive survey within the desired time period and following up on requests by the donor families. Work with appropriate LifeLink staff, keeping them informed of family requests as appropriate. Act as liaison to transplant centers to assist in the coordination of donor family and recipient interactions. Serve as a resource for Volunteer education in collaboration with Public Affairs, as directed by manager. Keep an open line of communication with respective leadership on coordination of all aspects of the Family Services Program, meeting appropriate deadlines, documentation and quality assurance. Continually review all processes applicable to the position to ensure quality assurance and identify areas for process improvement. Establish and maintain various industry-specific counseling outlets and information for staff utilization/resources and development. Provide and prepare additional detailed correspondence, reports, expense reports, presentations, etc., as needed. Responsible for participating in quality assessment performance improvement (QAPI) activities for the OPO as outlined in the OPO Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Plan. Comply with departmental budget expectations and requirements. Participate in special projects and other assignments as directed. Who You ArePassionate about helping others and making a difference. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and meet deadlines with a growing degree of autonomy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software required. Professional appearance and demeanor. Exercise discretion and deal with information in a sensitive and confidential manner. Puerto Rico Only: Must be fully bilingual – written and verbal English/Spanish. A collaborator who thrives in a mission-first environment. Working Conditions: Routinely works standard hours, although due to the nature of the position, may require extended working hours including occasional weekends. Demonstrated physical ability to lift, carry and/or move equipment of varying weight from approximately 1 to 30 pounds.
