Summary This position is located at the Recycling Center which is a part of the Fort Benning Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). Incentives and BonusesIncentives and bonuses will not be paid. This announcement has a weekly cutoff set for 19 February 2026. Duties Help Drives passenger buses regardless of gross vehicle weight and various types of trucks such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks weighing from 26,000 to 32,000 pounds on long or short hauls. Hauls may take place on the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions. Assists with loading and unloading cargo and materials. Assists with loading and unloading cargo and materials. Ensures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation. Fills out driver's accident report in case of accident. Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations. Possession of a valid state driver's license or CDL to operate a government vehicle with a capacity for transporting 24 passengers is required. May be required to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. This position is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R. This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP). Incumbent of a TDP is subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following:High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job. Requires a valid state driver's license to operate a 15 passenger vehicle, OR Requires a commercial drivers license (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a 24 passenger vehicle. Allowances and DifferentialsThis job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
