Senior Industrial Mechanical EngineerAbout the Role: As a Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer, you will lead industrial and mechanical engineering projects across a range of industries including minerals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, and petrochemicals. You'll manage projects from conceptual design to construction, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout. Key Responsibilities:Design and Engineering: Lead design services including conceptual studies, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass balance calculations, and equipment selection. Develop detailed designs for bulk material handling, process piping, conveyance equipment, dust collection, chute fabrication, tank/bin design, and equipment platforms/catwalks. Oversee the creation of detailed shop drawings and general arrangements with minimal supervision. Project Management: Coordinate and communicate project aspects with multi-disciplinary teams to meet client budgets, goals, objectives, and deadlines. Provide support during the bidding process, prepare addenda, attend pre-bid meetings, and perform technical bid analysis. Perform construction phase services including on-site representation, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing as-builts. Leadership and Mentoring: Supervise and mentor junior staff within the Industrial Engineering Department. Provide technical input to design projects, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and value engineering principles. Quality Control: Comply with quality control policies and procedures, ensuring all designs meet company standards. Develop project schematic designs, design development documents, and construction documents. Additional Duties: Travel up to 30% for project needs. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by senior management. Qualifications:Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Process Engineering. Over 10 years of experience in a leadership role within an industrial or multi-discipline A&E firm. Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one US state (preferred). Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and BIM. Familiarity with design and production software for project document development. 24-hour MSHA miner safety training (desirable). Autodesk certifications and other relevant industry certifications (desirable). Knowledge of MSHA standards and industrial process design parameters. Additional Skills: Excellent communication skills and technical precision. Creative design skills with a client-oriented attitude. Commitment to professional development and team success.
