Registered Nurse/PCU: Duration:13 Weeks Start:12/01/2025 Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Description: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized nursing care to patients who require close monitoring and advanced medical attention. The RN assesses patient conditions, administers medications, and manages complex equipment such as cardiac monitors. They collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. The role demands strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment. ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED!Unit Information: • Medical Oncology with progressive care beds/pediatric patients. • High acuity of PCU and small amount of med surg Schedule: Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor Patient Diagnoses: • Solid Tumor • Orthopedic Oncology • Thoracic Oncology Special Procedures/Unit Details: • 18J is a 36 bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care. -Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by perm staff. Pediatric experience is NOT required to be agency RN here. Required: High acuity PCU patient experience -Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Special Equipment: • B450 monitors Client telemetry system. • Bladder Scanner. • Alaris pumps. • Stryker beds. • Continuous Bladder Irrigation • PCA Pumps Requirements: • 2 years of oncology experience preferred, but NOT REQUIRED • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS & NIH • Ratio: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry • Ratio: 1:3 PCU • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. • Previous travel experience preferred.
