Job DescriptionJob Summary The Critical Facilities Maintenance Technician - Data Center carries out all general building maintenance and oversight of the Data Center and accompanying support equipment. Work 12-hour rotating shift schedule monitoring data center mechanical and electrical systems and performing preventive maintenance. Must have reliable transportation and be available for after-hour emergency calls. This position is onsite in Rensselaer, NY. ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties: Perform preventative and general maintenance. Perform daily rounds throughout the entire facility to log readings, carry out visual inspections on all equipment, rooms, and systems. Complete inspections and maintenance. Scheduled maintenance may include, but is not limited to, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annual equipment maintenance. Troubleshoot emergencies, equipment problems, and technical issues, organize and oversee resolutions. Perform light maintenance of Data Center equipment as needed. Monitor critical mechanical and electrical systems, including chilled water and piping systems. Escort visitors and oversee contractors and vendors performing work onsite. May assist in tenant improvement construction projects. Safety inspections and adherence to safety policies. May perform other duties as assigned. Other Job Functions: Responsible for tenant work requests. Basic computer skills including email, mobile phone app use, Microsoft Office. Basic mechanical and electrical skills a must. QualificationsSkills, Education and Experience: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum 3-year previous facilities maintenance/engineering experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment. Customer service focus. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes and handbooks - preferred. Ability to use various testing devices related to the mechanical trades - preferred. Ability to handle multiple projects. Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties. Salary Range Language: The expected rate for this position ranges from $30.00 to $32.20 hourly. The actual hourly rate will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to the hourly rate and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.). Working Conditions: Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements; occasional weather-related situations.
