We seek a highly qualified faculty member with a terminal degree in Economics or Finance, who can contribute to teaching, research, and service in a student-centered, AACSB-accredited College of Business. Primary Responsibilities: • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in economics. • Maintain an active and productive research agenda, resulting in peer-reviewed publications. • Advise and mentor students academically and professionally. • Engage in curriculum development and program assessment activities. • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities. • Support efforts to recruit and retain students within the Economics and Finance programs. • Collaborate with colleagues to foster interdisciplinary research and external partnerships. Preferred Qualifications: • Research and/or teaching interests aligned with applied economics, development economics, financial economics, public policy, or data analytics. • Evidence of prior teaching experience at the college/university level. • Experience using technology in teaching (such as online, hybrid, etc.). • Experience or strong interest in mentoring students and supporting student success initiatives. • Ability to contribute to efforts to expand diversity and inclusion within the field of economics. Minimum QualificationsRequired Qualifications:A Ph.D./DBA in Economics, Finance, or Applied Economics, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution ABD candidates will be considered, provided the degree is completed by the start date A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Economics and 18 graduate credit hours in Finance, qualifying the candidate to teach courses in both disciplines Demonstrated potential for high-quality research and scholarly publications Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching Ability to teach core and elective courses in Economics and Finance, including, but not limited to, the following courses: Microeconomics / Macroeconomics Intermediate Economics Corporate Finance / Financial Management Applied Economics, Financial Economics, or related areas Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Commitment to working effectively with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students and underrepresented groups Preferred Qualifications:Teaching and research interests aligned with applied economics, financial economics, development economics, public policy, data analytics, or investments Prior college or university teaching experience Experience using instructional technology (online, hybrid, or experiential learning formats) Demonstrated interest in student mentoring, advising, and student success initiatives Ability to support program growth in Economics and Finance, including interdisciplinary teaching and curriculum development Special Instructions to Applicants Employment is contingent upon completing a criminal background check as mandated by Tennessee State University.
