The Role Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and senior demographics through a combination of standardized methods and observational techniques. Create tailored treatment strategies that address both immediate and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges. Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies. Provide educational resources for patients and families to aid in progress beyond therapy sessions. Engage in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions for speech therapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care. Ensure documentation is precise and timely, following all relevant state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Keep abreast of developments in the field by participating in continuing education and engaging with peers. Credentials Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified. Required Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferably hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of hiring. Key Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
