The Cedarville School of Pharmacy is accepting applications for the an Assistant or Associate Dean for Assessment and Accreditation. This is a twelve-month administrative appointment for a faculty member. The Assistant or Associate Dean for Assessment and Accreditation serves as a key member of the School of Pharmacy's leadership team, providing strategic recommendations and collaborative oversight for programmatic effectiveness initiatives. This position holds primary responsibility for assessment coordination, supporting compliance with all ACPE Standards, and collaborative budgetary planning within the school's deans. The position reports directly to the CEO Dean and serves as a strategic partner in advancing the school's mission and accreditation standards. Primary Responsibilities:Assessment Leadership and Oversight Provides comprehensive leadership and oversight across all assessment domains to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and continuous quality improvement. Direct Supervision: Oversee and supervise the Director of Assessment in operational tasks and strategic planning Data Analysis and Reporting: Lead data analysis initiatives, identify performance gaps, benchmark against prior years and peer institutions, and contextualize results with relevant literature Strategic Planning Tracking: Collaborate with the Director of Assessment to prepare comprehensive summary reports and recommendations for the annual Assessment Report, Curriculum and Assessment Committee (CAC) meetings, and accreditation bodies (ACPE) Assessment Coordination: Facilitate cross-functional accountability to ensure integration across assessment domains, recognizing that operational leadership for specific areas is provided by: Director of EPAs (Entrustable Professional Activities) and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) Director of IPE (Interprofessional Education) Director of Assessment Director of Co-Curriculum Accreditation Preparation: Lead planning and faculty coordination for ACPE-related activities, including faculty/staff development sessions and preparation of ACPE self-studies and interim reports Curricular Support: Collaborate with department chairs and the Registrar to review course schedules and elective offerings each semester, ensuring alignment with program needs and accreditation standards Resource Management: Oversee maintenance of assessment-related technology platforms (e.g., Canvas sites) and calendars to support transparency and access to assessment resources Professional Engagement: Represent the School of Pharmacy in professional development and assessment communities, including active participation in AACP and ACPE activities and membership in the AACP Assessment Special Interest Group (SIG) Active Teaching Role: This position is expected to maintain an active teaching role within the PharmD curriculum. Workload allocation between administrative, teaching, and scholarly responsibilities will be determined in collaboration with the Dean and department chair. Administrative Leadership Provides administrative support and leadership for the School of Pharmacy. Collaborative Leadership: This position works collaboratively within the Deans' leadership team, with each member contributing distinct areas of expertise to advance the School's mission. Policy Development and Accountability: Recommend, develop, and maintain records of policies and procedures related to programmatic effectiveness and assessment to ensure efficient operation and continued accreditation (e.g., curriculum, admissions, progression). Collaborative decision-making will take place withing in the leadership team, with the appropriate parties (Ex: chairs for curriculum, Student Affairs for admissions/progression) involved in implementation. Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning initiatives and implementation of the School's strategic plan, mission, and vision, particularly in areas related to institutional effectiveness Budgetary Partnership: Provide budget analysis, recommendations, and collaborative input to the Dean for the development and administration of the School of Pharmacy budget. All deans will have ongoing, transparent access to complete budget information including all funds and accounts. Ultimate responsibility for budget administration remains with the CEO Dean, however. Committee Service: Serve on the Executive Committee for the School of Pharmacy and represent the School on University committees as appropriate Liaison Function: In conjunction with other senior administrators, serve as a liaison between the School of Pharmacy and the University regarding policy, procedure, and assessment-related matters This role will supervise the Director of Assessment, and in collaboration with the other deans, other administrative staff as well. Position Requirements: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or a PhD, or other approved terminal degree in a relevant field. Doctoral degree must be from an accredited institution Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in pharmacy education 3-5 years of demonstrated administrative leadership experience in higher education preferred Previous experience in roles such as faculty member, program director, division director, department vice chair, or equivalent administrative position Previous instructional experience within the profession of pharmacy Demonstrated experience with assessment processes and accreditation standards (ACPE preferred) Experience with fiscal stewardship and budget management in an academic setting preferred Current or eligible for pharmacist licensure (if applicable) in Ohio Commitment to biblical integration in and out of the classroom Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian Qualified candidates must agree with and be willing to abide by Cedarville University's Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant and General Workplace Standards. Position Preferences: 7-10 years of progressive experience in pharmacy education with demonstrated administrative leadership Experience as an Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Chair, or equivalent senior administrative role Active involvement in AACP or other national pharmacy education organizations Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity (publications, presentations, grants) Experience with institutional effectiveness, strategic planning, and change management Prior success in program development and assessment Knowledge of current trends in pharmacy education and practice This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a background check.
