Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview: Search Solution Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our client, a manufacturer specializing in hot impression die forging. This role is based in Georgetown, KY and offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in designing and producing custom steel components for the automotive, industrial, and agricultural sectors. This position plays a key role in supporting production, improving manufacturability, and driving overall product quality. Key Responsibilities: Support die design with a focus on material flow and manufacturability Assist in fixture design and other production-related engineering initiatives Collaborate with customers to improve product designs for forging and machining efficiency Troubleshoot production issues and support quality-related decisions on the shop floor Perform measurements and inspections (including CMM; training provided) Create and maintain 2D drawings (AutoCAD) and 3D models (Creo preferred) Record, track, and analyze production and engineering data within the ERP system Provide hands-on engineering support within a manufacturing environment Requirements include:Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred Experience: Early-career experience or internship exposure within manufacturing or engineering environments preferred Experience with die forging or metal manufacturing is a plus Skills: Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Creo preferred) Experience with AutoCAD for 2D drawings Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Mechanical aptitude with a hands-on approach Certifications: Not required Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably metal forming or forging Familiarity with engineering drawings, tolerances, and production workflows Basic knowledge of ERP systems is a plus Key Competencies: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to work cross-functionally with production teams and customers Initiative and willingness to learn in a specialized environment Adaptability in a fast-moving manufacturing setting How to Apply: To apply for this position, please click the "Apply" button at the top right of your screen.
