Student loan repayment options Pet Insurance Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification as a Peer Support Specialist and obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Be at least 18 years of age. Primary diagnosis of a mental health condition. Have a strong personal knowledge of what it is like to have first-hand lived experience with a mental health condition that has caused a substantial life disruption. Duties and Responsibilities: Promotes and participates in activities that enhance consumer recovery such as community inclusion activities, advocacy and anti stigma, education opportunities, etc. Enhances engagement and outreach of new individuals by providing a welcoming, supportive intake experience and offering smooth transition from an individual’s first access point for services to intake appointment and to ongoing program services. Direct services may include outreach and engagement in the office, acute care settings or in the community. It may also include, linkage to community supports, coordination with community partners, , in-home services, and advocacy. Attends team meetings and receives assignments from supervisor, team leader or designee. Assists team and staff in identifying program environments that are conducive to recovery; lending their unique insight into mental illness or dual diagnosis and what makes recovery possible.
