Job Summary: The Program Assistant for Workforce Development & Adult Learning will work with the Director and Program Coordinator to provide clerical support and help coordinate, outreach, and recruitment administer GLCAC's English for Speakers of Others Languages (ESOL) program. Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities: Organize student enrollment for the Adult Learning Program with the Program Coordinator Schedule assessment appointments by calling clients on the waiting list Support the Director and Program Coordinator to create attendance sheets per class Promote the agency's services, activities, or events by distributing flyers, setting up displays, or any other outreach effort, and supports student recruitment Support the Instructors to monitor class attendance Maintain inventory of books and classroom materials Create, update and arrange waiting list database and placement reports as needed Enter survey data to capture participation and measure the outcome and prepare program reports Conducting students' surveys to identify needs and gathering former students' exit follow-up outcomes Recording data about community needs, participation rates, and outcomes of events and programs Maintaining a tracking system for the program employment retention Flexible schedule is required Other duties as required by GLCAC Skills & Qualifications: Associate degree or High School graduate Responsible, self-motivated, and able to carry out and prioritize multiple ongoing projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse clientele Strong computer skills a must; proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel Thrives in a fast-paced work environment Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings Strong work ethics, and a commitment to the mission of GLCAC Bi-lingual Spanish-English (both written and spoken) Must have a suitable CORI and SORI completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Desirable Qualifications: Experience working in a diverse multi-cultural communit Relevant experience in community development/workforce development programs Other:Supervisory Responsibility: None Travel: May be required Physical Demands: This job regularly requires the employee to sit, walk and stand as well as use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
