Additional information on how to complete the two-page resume is located at The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a professional computer scientist with project management, execution, and operational responsibility in assigned area(s). Considered the technical expert for the organization in computer science assignments concerning Scientist and Engineer; employee provides technical leadership and management to ensure project/program success. Work encompasses several phases of the development process in which the employee guides and evaluates the design and development activities of others. Provides state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions that support the warfighter in maintaining and increasing weapon systems capabilities and readiness; making decisions using critical systems and information; providing superior software engineering maintenance and support for the nation's global broadcast service and range launches and safety. QUALIFICATIONS: - U.S. Citizenship - A Computer Science degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program or a closely related field is highly desired - Obtain & maintain a Top security clearance - This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. - The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty - May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours - This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) - Must be able to obtain and maintain Cyberspace qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of professional computer science, and knowledge of other technical disciplines to effectively apply computer software, software systems and computer hardware architectural theories, principles, and concepts to areas of responsibility. 2. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization. 5. Ability to research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions. 6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
