Dietary aide Job DescriptionDepartment Food and Nutrition Services Reports to Dietitian/Director of Food Services Reporting to this position None Job Classification Department Staff Position Purpose Provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. We'd like to see: Ability to productively work independently as well as in a team setting Recognize and achieve sanitation, quality, and presentation standards Be clean, friendly, detailed, and efficient, while supporting the highest food quality standards Excellent customer service attitude; great work ethic and consistent attendance SALARY $17.00 - $20.00 per hour DOE BENEFITSPart-time (24 hours per week)403(b) with Employer Match Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Employee Assistance Program Flexible Spending Account Free Parking Life Insurance Paid Time Off Referral Bonus Program Reduced Fare Bus Pass JOB TYPES Full-time MEDICAL SPECIALTIESGeriatrics EXPERIENCE No experience necessary, DOE ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS • Work closely with the food service team to prepare and serve meals to residents, their guests and family members • Perform kitchen duties as instructed in the preparation of meals • Preparing for meal service (setting up salad bar, pouring waters, setting up line, etc.) • Cleaning a dining room (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, busing tables, etc.) • Complete pre-service trainings, monthly ongoing education and in-services on time and attend scheduled facility/campus meetings • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and a positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility • Maintain a good working rapport with co-workers as well as employees throughout the company • Greeting patient/resident visitors and staff courteously • Respect dignity and confidentiality standards • Promote resident rights as related to nutrition and choice • Remain engaged in work activities throughout the duration of shift • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • Recognize and achieve sanitation, quality, and presentation standards • Be clean, friendly, detailed, and efficient, while maintaining the highest food quality standards • Strong team work as well as being able to productively work solo • Follow oral and written instructions • Adhere to all state, OSHA, and safety regulations • Self-managed; self-starter; good time management • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills • Be a concise communicator with great command of the English language with ease of reading, writing, comprehending, and speaking • Must be reliable and able to work all assigned hours • Must be able to participate in work activities for the duration of shift without attending to personal issues, and making personal phone calls while on shift (access phone during breaks only) PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Must be able to properly carry a maximum of 25 pounds unassisted without difficulty • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; as well as reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, pull/push and manipulate various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment WORKING CONDITIONS • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions • Job tasks may be performed in close physical proximity to other people • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens, and other bodily fluids • Possible exposure to profanity and/or offensive behavior • Possible exposure to verbal or physical aggression • Includes exposure to disease or infections Saturday, Sunday, Monday , Tuesday 6AM-2:30PM Wednesday 8AM-4:30PM 40 hours per week or float
