Job Responsibilities Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric individuals using established testing methods and keen observational skills. Create tailored intervention plans that cater to immediate as well as lasting needs in communication, cognition, and swallowing. Deliver individualized therapy sessions that focus on areas such as articulation, voice modulation, fluency, and swallowing difficulties. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, healthcare providers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care plans. Educate patients and families on strategies to promote progress beyond the clinical setting. Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions to ensure seamless transitions and continuity in patient care. Keep detailed and appropriate documentation in accordance with all relevant regulatory requirements. Commit to ongoing professional development and stay updated on the latest practices in speech-language pathology. Qualifications A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you haven't yet obtained ASHA certification. Certifications Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment. Required Skills Knowledge of evidence-based practices tailored to all age ranges, with ample experience in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional skills in communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt interventions to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
