Design Engineer, Automotive Tier 1

Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage GDI injector design projects from initial concept through to production release, including Design Validation (DV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) readiness. Develop and refine spray and flow test methodologies, ensuring alignment with OEM specifications and standards. Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications, facilitating seamless integration with manufacturing processes. Partner with manufacturing teams to optimize design for manufacturability, ensuring timely and successful product launches. Support application engineering efforts for both OEM and aftermarket programs, maintaining focus on design efficiency. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve product issues effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fuel injector design, including at least 2 years focused on GDI systems. Expertise in injector internal geometry, spray pattern control, and comprehensive fuel system requirements. Proven experience in validation test planning and execution, with a strong ability to correlate results to OEM standards. Familiarity with DFMEA, APQP, and PPAP processes. Proficiency in CAD software (Creo preferred) and tolerance analysis. Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.
