Senior Engineer

Job Title: Senior Engineer Location: Waynesboro GA Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Possible extension/ conversion) Job Description: Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems. Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications. Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages. Responsibilities: Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first, understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance, understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance, understanding design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design, understanding industry and Company design standards, supporting design standard and criteria development for the system, supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations, estimating material for projects, transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in related field. 10+ years of related experience. Introductory engineering knowledge, good problem-solving skills, discretion making independent decisions based on procedure, good discipline software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors. Experience with a PWR as a Procurement, Maintenance, Design or System Engineer is preferred. Familiarity with plant systems, design changes processes, plant licensing and operation is a plus. AP1000 Plant design required.
