The Bay Area and Central Coast Regional Business Development Manager functions at the expert journey level and is responsible for performing activities of the greatest scope, impact, and sensitivity. The incumbent will receive general direction from the Associate Deputy Director, of the California Business Investment Services (CalBIS) unit, and general program direction from the Deputy Director of Business Development. This position serves as a subject matter expert and is responsible for performing duties that are the most complex, critical, and specialized for the greater Bay Area and Central Coast regions, which can include, but is not limited to, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Venture and more. This position and will act as back-up/assist with surrounding counties when necessary. Although this position is remote, in-person hybrid work is required within the Bay Area and Central Coast regions. In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). Under this program, employees' monthly base pay is reduced in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025. The specific rate of pay reduction and corresponding leave credits are determined by the employee's bargaining unit and classification.
