Summary: Provide comprehensive respiratory care services across all modalities to patients following departmental protocols. Respond promptly to resuscitation events and respiratory emergencies as needed. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in patient records and departmental logs. Serve as charge therapist when assigned. Education and Formal Training Graduate of a COARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed by the National Certified Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Work Experience Clinical experience in respiratory therapy is required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of medical terminology and modern respiratory care techniques. Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations involving patients, colleagues, and visitors. Familiarity with psychosocial, physiological, and spiritual needs of patients across all age groups, from infants to adults, to deliver appropriate care and interventions. Physical Requirements Effective oral communication skills, manual dexterity for equipment operation and assembly, good visual acuity, stamina to stand or walk for extended periods, ability to position and move patients, and capability to transport heavy equipment to bedside locations. Exposure to blood or infectious materials may occur. Licenses and Certifications Must hold RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
