Position: SIL Engineer-second shift Location: Mossville, IL ⏳ Duration: 2+ years Experienced Required: 3 years of exp Summary: Job Description Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the MineStar Fleet Application, which enables autonomous trucks and staff vehicles. This role involves using fleet management systems to manage productivity and data at worksites. The position is primarily focused on testing engineering with some IT software components. SIL (Software in the Loop) Minestar Need to have worked on complex projects Responsibilities Support the MineStar Fleet Application for autonomous trucks and staff vehicles. Enable autonomous operations using Command for Hauling and MineStar Fleet applications. Utilize fleet management systems to manage productivity and data at worksites. Conduct testing in a scalability lab to simulate real mining site conditions. Administer a dedicated server cluster using VMWare for virtual machine management. Manage virtual machines using Windows Server OS, Linux, and Autonomy onboard software. Perform system upgrades to Windows 2022. Work within an isolated VLAN segmented network specifically for the team. Essential Skills 3-5 years of experience in relevant fields. Experience in developing and executing test plans. Proficiency in debugging and Software in the Loop (SIL). Experience with IT software, especially VmWare. Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Knowledge of Python and IP Networking. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree is required. Willingness to work onsite fully. Work Environment This role requires full onsite work during the 2nd shift from 12 PM to 10 PM, four days a week. The work involves managing a significant number of virtual machines and working with advanced technologies in a dedicated facility. SIL (Software in the Loop) Minestar Need to have worked on complex projects Summary: The main function of a systems engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical systems engineer analyzes user needs, and then designs, tests, and develops software to meet those needs. Job Responsibilities: • Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems. • Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions. • Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. • Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations. • Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems. • Implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure. • Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information. Skills: • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. • Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time. • Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. • Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery. • Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue. • Strong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. • Strong knowledge of computer development software across multiple platforms. Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. • 8-10 years experience required. Candidate Requirements • Years of experience required • Degrees or certifications required • Disqualifiers • Performance indicators Education & Experience Required: - Engineering degree is required (4 year degree at a minimum) - Electrical/computer preferred, but open based upon experience - Minimum 3 years of experience Technical Skills (Required) - Software in the Loop (SIL) test execution with clear documentation and clear communication skills - Experience automating system level administrative tasks using Python or other common scripting languages - Experience with complex system testing and troubleshooting - Secondary skillset: o 2+ years experience managing Windows Server and Ubuntu VMs using Vsphere in a complex operational environment with responsibilities including: Management of OS updates, account administration using LDAP and other technologies, SQL server management, etc. o Experience with testing and troubleshooting IT issues observed by complex client / server applications running in a global test environment including networking (unicast, multicast, broadcast) using tools such as Wireshark, server performance, etc. Soft Skills (Required) - Communication - Willingness & ability to learn continuously - Teamwork
