Accountant (Assistant Controller)

The Judge Group is seeking a Accountant with manufacturing (Costing and Distribution) experience (Food preferred) in the Bourbonnais, IL area. This is a succession planning position and the right candidate will have a passion for learning the business to be ready to be promoted into a Controller position. COMPENSATION: 95k to 120k LOCATION: This is an onsite position (Not hybrid or Remote) in the Bourbonnais, IL area SIGN ON BONUS: 10k offered to local candidates RELOCATION: Relocation assistance will be offered for the right candidate. MUST HAVE: 5+ years of experience in Accounting in a manufacturing environment (Food industry preferred) with at least 3+ years of costing experience MUST HAVE: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred MUST HAVE: Understanding of GAAP/IFRS and internal controls MUST HAVE: Costing and Distribution MUST BE: A US Citizen or a Green Card holder RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work alongside the Plant Controller with a focus on cost management and Financial Planning and Analysis while working to learn all areas the of the operation (Manufacturing Operations, Financial Reporting, Capex, Investment Management, Budgeting, Internal Controls and Compliance, Reporting, etc.) - FP&A - (Financial Planning and Analysis), Identify opportunities for cost reduction (Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, material usage, etc.) - Run planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes - Track performance metrics and provide variance analysis - Cost Accounting, create accurate cost accounting (Product Costing, Variance Reporting, allocation) Review bills of materials (BOMs) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred. - 5+ years of experience in Accounting in a manufacturing environment (Food industry preferred) with at least 3+ years of costing experience - Strong cost accounting experience - Some proficiency with financial software, i.e. ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc. and strong Excel skills #JDP
